Hemp-Nettle Card
Galeopsis versicolor & Galeopsis tetrahit
The original watercolour was painted by Sophia in August 1905 after discovery 'on a roadside near Tunstall, Yorkshire.' Large-flowered Hemp-nettle is more usually found on arable land, especially peaty soil, and is often associated with potatoes; bumblebees love it, but it is poisonous to humans. Common Hemp-nettle is found in woods and on hedge banks.
Our rectangular cards measure 130mm x 175mm and are left blank for your own personal message. Sophia's original watercolour is carefully reproduced on 320gsm Vellum Ivory card and comes complete with a bespoke 135gsm mid green, peel-and-seal envelope.
