Mallow Card

Mallow Card

Malva sylvestris

The original watercolour was painted by Sophia in 1904 with the Mallow depicted being found in 'Rose Lane, Oxford'.  Rose Lane was originally planted as a lime avenue, with the trees being maintained as high-stemmed specimens to allow views of Christ Church Meadow beneath their canopies.  Commonly found today by roadsides and waste ground, Mallow flowers from June to September and its seed pods can be substituted for most of an egg white to make Mallow Meringues.

Our rectangular cards measure 130mm x 175mm and are left blank for your own personal message. Sophia's original watercolour is carefully reproduced on 320gsm Vellum Ivory card and comes complete with a bespoke 135gsm mid green, peel-and-seal envelope.

Produced in the UK, both card and envelope are made with paper that is FSC accredited and can be easily recycled.
